Are you looking for a therapist who understands your issues and can offer effective help to make improvements?
Therapists all work differently – depending on their graduate and post-graduate training, their work experiences, their license, the type of practice, their own developmental and family history and the types of therapy they have undertaken and utilized to promote their own change, growth, and development.
With a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and two Master's degrees, in Business Administration and Social Work, I have over 30 years of experience in relationships in public, private, and non-profit organizations. I combine my psychological acumen, business experience, mindful awareness, and multicultural sensitivity in my Dupont Circle therapy practice to help my clients learn how to lead balanced and fulfilling lives. I've studied many different forms of meditation and mindfulness practices and dedicated many hours to post-graduate education in psychotherapy to become prepared to help my clients.
Wherever you are starting from, I am here to walk the journey with you.
The Space Between
The space between the client and the therapist is represented by the Japanese kanji character, AIDA.
AIDA, “the space between,” symbolizes the environment where client and therapist co-exist together. In this space, the unique experiences and meanings of both contribute to a shared awareness and new understanding of life’s crises, difficulties and challenges.
The insight gained through therapy can lead to your own inner awakening to a more comfortable relationship with yourself, your life, your partner, friends and others. I can walk the journey with you.
How do you know if therapy will work for you?
Ask yourself these questions:
Am I dealing with an issue that is affecting my life?
Is the issue preventing me from engaging in my regular routine?
Do I need to talk to someone?
Am I having difficulty talking with family or friends?
Do I need an objective person to listen and help sort it out?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, therapy could provide a new means of dealing with the problems plaguing your life.
